The UCCRF boards host fundraising events throughout the year to benefit cancer research at the University of Chicago Medicine Comprehensive Cancer Center. From galas to outings, these events provide an opportunity for the community to come together in support of the innovative work done by Cancer Center researchers each day.

Join the Auxiliary Board at Valentina in Winnetka, Illinois, for a holiday shopping event. Ten percent of sales will benefit the UCCRF’s mission of supporting research at the Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Women's Board Breakthrough Ball

November 2020

This hallmark event began in 1966 and quickly became one of the Chicago philanthropic scene’s must-attend events. Today, it draws more than 500 civic and philanthropic leaders who share a commitment to advancing cancer prevention, care, and treatment. The 2019 ball raised over $2.2 million. View photos here.

Simon M. Shubitz Cancer Prize and Lectureship

Fall 2020

The award, presented annually to a scientist who has made significant contributions to the study of cancer, is named in honor of Simon M. Shubitz, MD, a distinguished alumnus known for his dedication as a physician and his efforts as a humanitarian and philanthropist. This event is invitation only.
